Return to Campus Information

After the COVID-19 pandemic forced KU to fully remote teaching, learning and working remotely in spring 2020, a cross-functional campus team in close collaboration with KU leaders developed detailed plans for returning to campus for the 2020-21 academic year. Their planning included aProtect KU website, which provides the latest information regarding COVID-19 and summarizes the decisions, readiness efforts, protocols, and procedures KU implemented to reopen campus. The Protect.ku.edu website covers a range of topics such as health and safety, working on campus, and working remotely in a way that will help employees know what to expect in the coming weeks and months.

The policies, guidelines and responsibilities included in the document are based on the most current information and advice from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as state, county, and local health organizations. If individually and together we follow the measures set forth in the guide, our combined effort will enable us continue to provide our students the KU experience they expect while reducing the risk of spreading COVID-19.

Please note: The Protect KU website website is a living resource that continues to evolve based on your feedback, our continued planning efforts, and ever-changing circumstances in our community and across the state and nation. As the Chancellor and Provost have said many times, our goal is to welcome back as many students as we can each semester while continuing to prioritize the health of our community above all else.

We will continue to provide updates via email to the campus community and on the Protect KU website.
